The Application in One Paragraph
The Solar Farm Maintenance Operations Hub runs the maintenance record for a solar farm from the moment a problem is detected to the moment the defect is independently closed. A problem enters through a governed alarm reference, a field inspection or an operator service request; it becomes a defect, whose operational impact (lost or derated capacity) and priority assessment decide how fast to respond. The planned response is a work order with its tasks, the people and organisations assigned, the dependencies that gate a start and a full status history. Before work begins the job is made safe: an isolation reference is requested, applied and proved dead, access requirements are arranged, and the safety documents are accepted. In the field the technician records measurements, evidence, technician notes and tests, draws parts from stock and books part usage, and books out a removed component — which, if the equipment was under warranty, drives a warranty claim against the manufacturer. The model then keeps three acts deliberately separate, which is the whole point of its audit value: return to service (the equipment is safely re-energised), verification (someone independent confirms the defect is actually resolved) and closeout (the defect is formally closed, with failure mode, root cause and capacity restored). Around that spine sit the portfolio, farms, zones, locations and assets being maintained, the maintenance and inspection templates work is generated from, the parts catalogue and stock, and a vegetation stream — managed vegetation zones with target and intervention heights, and the inspections against them — plus weather events that flag inspection requirements. A defect is not closed without an accepted verification behind it, and the person who finishes the work, the person who returns it to service and the person who verifies it are, by design, separable.
